An elegant Art Deco toi et moi ring crafted in platinum, dating to the early 20th century (circa 1920) and set with an old European cut diamond and pearl in a classic opposing design.
“Toi et moi”, meaning “you and me” in French, is one of the most romantic and enduring ring styles, symbolising the union of two souls. Popularised during the late Victorian and Art Deco periods, the design traditionally features two contrasting stones positioned side by side to represent harmony and partnership.
This example is set with a bright old European cut diamond in a claw setting opposite a luminous pearl, creating a beautiful balance between sparkle and softness. The stones are framed by delicately split shoulders designed as stylised leaves, each adorned with small diamonds and fine milgrain detailing, adding to the ring’s refined Art Deco character.
Old European cut diamonds are admired for their broad hand-cut facets, producing a softer and more romantic sparkle than modern brilliant cuts. Popular during the late Victorian and Art Deco periods, each stone possesses its own individual charm and character.
Graceful and distinctive, this ring is a beautiful interpretation of a traditional toi et moi design.
