Description
A charming 9ct gold sweetheart brooch modelled as the badge of the Royal Army Service Corps, highlighted with vibrant blue enamel detailing. The design features the corps insignia beneath a crown and the motto “Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense”, the historic motto of the Order of the Garter, translating to “Shame on him who thinks evil of it.”
Sweetheart brooches were gifted by servicemen to loved ones as tokens of affection and remembrance, particularly during the First and Second World Wars. Rich in military history and sentiment, this example is a wonderful piece of British militaria and collectible jewellery.
